Whether you’re a golf novice, an avid fan, a new volunteer, or have been an integral volunteer for years, there is a place for you! It takes many hands to make this tournament a success.

There is a $40 volunteer fee and includes the following:
- One STITCH Tournament polo shirt
- One Tournament ball cap or visor
- Free breakfast and lunch on the days that you volunteer
- Tournament Volunteer badge, which is good all week for free admittance
- Grounds tickets for family or friends
- Free parking in the volunteer parking lot with frequent shuttles to and from the course
Volunteer Committee Descriptions
Listed below are the areas in which we need help, and a brief description of the duties and responsibilities of each. If you would like more information on volunteering for the REX Hospital Open, contact Cindy Hanson.
Thursday – Sunday: Committee members are posted at admission gates to greet and check spectators for proper credentials. Volunteers will also handle Will Call and General Information.
Thursday – Sunday: Assist corporate sponsors in hospitality areas by checking for proper credentials, meet and greet, oversee general flow and provide information to the corporate guests. Minimal walking or standing.
Thursday – Sunday: Volunteers will work on-course at manual leader board locations and the 18th green monster leader board. Hole scores will be posted real time. Moderate to heavy work.
Thursday – Sunday: Volunteers will be assigned practice areas and holes. Marshals will be responsible to control the flow of spectators behind the ropes, and the players and officials inside the ropes. Moderate walking and standing.
Monday – Sunday: Responsible for shuttling players from green to tee on several holes on course. Must have a valid driver’s license. Minimal walking or standing.
Monday – Sunday: Crowd control in practice area and distribution of balls to the players or caddies. Moderate level of walking, standing and moderate physical labor.
Monday – Sunday: Responsible for distribution of food and beverage to on-course locations. Must have a valid driver’s license. Moderate level of walking, standing and moderate physical labor.
Wednesday – Sunday: This team serves as the nucleus for receiving and relaying all scoring information during the event. Scoring control filters scoring information from the Walking Scorers to manual leader boards and serves as the checkpoint for score verification. Volunteers will input data into scoring computers and run scorecards. Light walking and standing.
Saturday – Sunday: A standard bearer will accompany each group of players. This committee requires adults and teenagers who are capable of carrying the double-sided standard that keep the gallery advised of each player’s score. Volunteer must be in good physical condition and be able to walk 18 holes at a pace to keep up with the players.
Monday – Sunday: Responsible for running the shuttle vans to and from the volunteer parking lot; and for assisting in getting volunteers to road accessible holes. Some airport runs for staff and players are possible. Volunteers must have a valid driver’s license and be over 21 years of age.
Monday – Sunday: Provide volunteer hospitality functions during the tournament. Set up and maintain food and beverage areas. Assist Marshal Chairpersons with on-course lunch and beverage delivery. Minimal walking or standing. These volunteers may also fill in any last minute needs and open spots in other committees.
Thursday – Sunday: A walking scorer will accompany each group of players, use a hand held device to track statistics and results, and report scores by radio to Scoring Control. It is essential to have knowledge of golf and be in good physical condition with the ability to walk 18 holes at a pace to keep up with the players.
*Those working a Thursday or Friday shift will be given first priority for weekend shifts. Only one shift is available per weekend day.
